Delta Airlines official website - analysis, information, review
Company overviewDelta Airlines is a major air carrier from the USA, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, it flies to many important international airports. In 2006, it had a fleet of well over 500 airplanes, it is the 4th largest airline company in the World from the point of view of its fleet size and it's the second largest from the point of view of the number of passengers it carried (87 million in 2004). The company is a member of the Sky Team Alliance, like Air France, KLM, Continental Airlines, Northwest Airlines, Korean Air, etc. Delta flies to destinations across North America (especially), the Caribbean region, South America, Asia and Europe. The company also owns a low cost carrier, Song Airlines.
Website & online booking services
Delta's website is stylish, attractive. That's what you notice when you first visit it. The first lack that non-English-speaking visitors will notice is the lack of any other languages support. The pages are however well built-up, very user-friendly and this is what attracts people in the first place. The main page is simple, yet beautiful, decorated with large images, glowing in its blue colour. The booking form is easily accessible and easy to fill out, practical. What's interesting about it is that Delta has included a "refundable" section that you can mark. If you do so, the search engine will look for refundable plane tickets, taking account of your choice. It's a rare thing amongst airline sites. Another noticeable thing is that you get the choice to select from 4 fare categories, which gives you more flexibility, not just the usual Economy, Business and First, but: lowest fares, discounted, flexible and Business Elite/Business First. Because of the fact that classes are a bit different with Delta, you'll find a "Coach" class instead of Economy, the 2 higher ones are the upper enumerated, Business Elite and business First. Overall, the search form is great, easy to use, but there's one little problem: unfortunately there is not child plane ticket support... (Even though most airlines do not offer this support, we thought a company like Delta should offer more). Delta Airlines has one of the most prestigious frequent flyer programs. If you travel frequently to the US, you should check out what they have to offer. Delta should definitely be on your list for plane ticket-resources, if you travel to or from the US, within the country and not only...
