EasyJet official website - analysis, information, review
Company overviewEasyJet, based in London, the UK, is known to be Europe's most influential low cost airline. It's also the most popular one. However, strong competitors like Ryanair could make a change in the toplist as low fare airlines are getting more and more popular in Europe, which we consider the "continent of the low cost airlines". EasyJet was started by Stelios Haji-Ioannou with two leased aircraft operating two routes: London - Glasgow and London - Edinburgh, today the company flies to almost every important capital city in Europe and has one of the largest fleets in the World.
Website & online booking servicesThe easyJet website is a great site, needs little presentation, well put together chapters, very comprehensive, very easy to use.Even though the design is overall very good, there are some problems with the image quality, we believe that such a large and important airline should take more care about the images that it places on its site. Some are blurry, others have spots, unclear parts... The site starts with a large page, where you can select your language, unusual for multilingual websites, but it's not a bad idea, however some people might like to jump to the main page imediately. Then, after the language selection, you are taken to another section where you select the service: plane tickets, car rentals, hotels, airport parking. Then after the selection you're taken where you chose. The easyJet service, include plane tickets, car rentals, travel insurance, airport parking and other services... The travel insurance and the airport parking are very important services that many airlines don't offer, but of course, easyJet takes care of everything! The online booking section is well built up and located in a visible area on the main page. Just one thing about it seems uncomfortable, the drop- down menu from which you select the menu, which could have just a little bit larger characters for people to see easier. There's a section on the lower part of the booking form page, where you can type in the keywords of a question that you have. Then, the site searches its database for passing answers/explanations, a great service indeed! What we liked most about this site was the fact that each section (plane tickets, car rentals, travel insurance, etc.) is very well organized, well designed, what we've found uncomfortable is that despite the good organization, almost each of these sections looks very different from the others, which might lead to confusion. Visitors could get lost easily while browsing through the pages about the services offered. Another thing is that not all languages are available throughout the whole site. Let's say you choose Estonian when entering one of the main sections, then later, you might be surprised to find yourself on a secondary page which doesn't support Estonian, but only English, French and a couple of other languages... This is a problem, taking account of easyJet's reputation as a low cost airline and its immense income, they should be able to fix this problem easily. Having a fully functional multilingual site doesn't cost much. Small travel agencies have sites that are better organized and fully multilingual. We have noticed the lack of certain languages, which are spoken in the countries where easyJet flies. So it's strange indeed, customers are not very important to this airline, at least not those who come from the internet. EasyJet calls himself "Europe's leading low cost airline", you'll find this sentence on several pages on their site... When you're in Europe and planning a flight to the UK or within the UK, you must check the easyJet site! The airline flies to dozens of important cities within the UK, it might be an alternative for finding cheap plane tickets within-, from- or to the UK.
