Company overview
KLM - Royal Dutch Airlines is part of the Sky Team Alliance and is one of Europe's biggest carriers, as it is one of the World's most important airlines. KLM is subsidiary of the Air France - KLM group and it is headquartered in Amstelveen, Holland. The Dutch airline was taken over by Air France in 2004. KLM started operating on October 17, 1919 and it is the World's oldest carrier still operating under its initial name The airline's subsidiaries are: KLM Cityhopper, KLM Cargo and KLM Asia (the livery of this airline lacks the crown symbol from the aircrafts' tail and fuselage). KLM operates on Asian routes in collaboration with US-based NWA - Northwest Airlines, through the Amsterdam Schiphol Airport hub.

KLM has a beautiful website. That's what you'll notice once you get there. The search for plane tickets starts with the selection of your country of departure and language of preference. At the language issue, we have found it insufficient that English and Dutch and several other languages were supported. Such a big airline should be able to create a site that supports the languages of all countries where the airline flies. But this hasn't crossed their mind. Languages include some of the languages spoken in countries where KLM flies, some of them are: Hungarian, Ukrainian, Portuguese, however languages like: Arabic ar Swedish are not supported. Another language-related problem is that each country page is available in 2 languages maximum: the local language (if it is) and English (this always is), but it would be useful if they'd include, for instance: French and Spanish at least. As these are frequently spoken languages, many people around the World use them. Travelers from Latin America of the African countries where French is widely spoken would find this useful. Despite this important lack, the website is easy to use and well designed. It's very easy to select options and enter your details. Often errors occur in the searcher and going back to previous pages to modify small details is difficult, often impossible. The site has a plus: it shows the price results in accordance to their levels. A handy tool indeed, few other sites have such an instrument. Visitors will love it.
