Company overview
Founded in 1926, as Northwest Airways, this airline has grown to become one of the planet's largest, with a fleet of well over 400 aircraft and a number of destinations well above 200. Northwest Airlines, later also called NWA, has multiple hubs around the World: Detroit Metro-Wayne Airport, Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport, Memphis International Airport, Tokyo Narita International Airport, Amsterdam Schiphol International Airport. NWA operates Asian flights in collaboration with KLM - Royal Dutch Airlines. Northwest Airlines is currently the 4th largest airline in terms of RPK (revenue per passenger kilometers). Northwest operates mostly on Pacific routes, it is in fact the number one US airline in terms of passengers carried across the Pacific region. It was the first US airline to operate between Japan and the USA (first flights started in 1947). It also carries more air cargo than any other passenger airline. NWA's regional flights are operated under the names of Mesaba Airlines and Pinnacle Airlines.

The NWA site is very original, has a beautiful design, easy to use interface. It is one of the very few airline sites that have deeply impressed us with their combination of beauty, elegance and ease of use. The website has everything one needs and it is easily navigable. Simply, the site has everything one needs. We are very strict on our reviews, few sites get high score. NWA's great site has earned the maximum: 10 points! The search engine offers airline tickets, vacations, cruises... However, we believe that the second thing that interests travelers after plane tickets are actually the hotels. But that's not necessarily a negative part of the site construction. The search engine is easy to use, has everything, but if you click the "more search options" link, then you jump to a new page, where you can search for tickets by taking account of many other factors. NWA also lets you book tickets for children, infants. Even more than other airlines: they offer the choice to select either "infant in lap" or "infant in seat", for those flying with small children. And they also sell senior airline tickets. If you're a senior traveler, you'll be happy to hear this! Most airlines only sell one type of airline ticket... NWA is a member of Northwest Airlink and the SkyTeam Alliance. The airline operates codeshare routes in collaboration with 18 airlines.
